COVID-19 Related Stress Support Groups

At the McShane Center, our staff is committed to responding to the mental health challenges posed by the novel corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic we are currently facing as a global community.

In an effort to support our community during these times of uncertainty, loss, and stress, we are offering various short-term, support groups at a low cost. 

Groups will consist of weekly sessions 3 to 6 participants and will be led by psychologists-in-training who are doctoral candidates in psychology at Pace University. Our psychologists-in-training will be supervised by licensed clinicians.

Groups will take place both in person or on a HIPAA compliant telemental health platform (specifically Zoom for Healthcare), and will focus on supporting individuals by providing support in the areas in specific areas. 

We will be offering supports for the following participants:

PARENTS’ SKILLS GROUPS

Focus on helping parents decreasing problem behaviors and increase positive behaviors and to encourage supportive family relationships.

CHILDREN/ADOLESCENTS
Group for Children Ages 10 – 13

Group for Children Ages 14 -17

Group for Teen Girls age “Lets Talk”

 

COVID Support Group ADULTS
5. Group for Adults Ages 18 -24
6. Group for Adults Ages 25+
